Jason Worilds reached a four-year agreement with the Steelers late Wednesday.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and second-round draft pick (No. 52 overall) Jason Worilds agreed to terms on a four-year deal Wednesday night.
Worilds, 6-foot-1 and 254-pounds, played defensive end at Virginia Tech, but is transitioning to outside linebacker in the NFL.
Despite being taken relatively high in the draft, Worilds probably won’t see much playing time as a rookie. Instead, he will be relegated to special teams while learning the ropes as a pro.
Worilds decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft after recording 133 tackles and 15.5 sacks in Blacksburg.
He is viewed as the eventual successor to James Harrison.
Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network was the first to report the news.
