Shockey Intends to Play, Ailing Knee or Not

Despite missing practice on Thursday, Saints TE Jeremy Shockey has every intention of playing in Super Bowl XLIV.  Shockey also made a visit to Dr. James Andrews earlier this week to check on his ailing knee.

jeremy_shockeyAfter missing his first chance to play in Super Bowl XLII while a member of the Giants, he won’t miss the opportunity this time around.  He was sidelined with a broken leg in 2007.

“There’s no holding the reins back,” Shockey said, via the AP.  “I’ll do everything I can, even if that requires hurting myself, to win the game because you got a lot of time to rehab and things of that nature to get right in the offseason.”

“The last two games you guys have seen me play, it wasn’t really me,” Shockey said. “I was out there on one leg. It felt like being on a pogo stick. This week I’ll have two pogo sticks instead of one.”
