Visanthe Shiancoe wants the Vikings to sign Brian Westbrook.
Visanthe Shiancoe is making a public push for the Minnesota Vikings to sign veteran running back Brian Westbrook.
The pair have been working out together as of late and Shiancoe thinks the former Philadelphia Eagles star can still get it done.
“We work out five days a week, and I know he [definitely] has it in him,” Shiancoe said Friday during a chat on NFL.com, per the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “He’s indicated to me this is the first time he’s been able to workout at 100 percent without having to worry about previous injuries. He’s working hard, and it looks like he’s in camp shape. His route running would [definitely] help our offense.”
The odds of the Vikings actually listening to Shiancoe’s plea are slim.
The team drafted Toby Gerhart out of Stanford in the second round to fill whatever gaps there are behind Adrian Peterson.
