According to a recent report by the NFL Network’s Steve Wyche, free safety Darren Sharper is likely to receive the Franchise tag by the New Orleans Saints.
Sharper is a logical candidate to be franchised as signing the impending free agent veteran to a long term deal wouldn’t make much sense due to his age (34).
Sharper, a key cog to the Super Bowl Champion Saints’ defense and 2009 Defensive POY candidate, is the NFL’s active interceptions leader by a wide margin.
