Julius Peppers
As zero hour draws near for free agent signings in the NFL, there are rumblings that the Seattle Seahawks will make a strong push to sign Julius Peppers.
The Chicago Bears are considered the front-runner to acquire his services, but Mike Florio of PFT cautions not to rule out the Seattle franchise who have seemingly come out of nowhere in the Peppers sweepstakes to most casual fans.
In fact, Sean Jenson of the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Seahawks could be the favorite to land Peppers at midnight tonight.
The Washington Redskins are also in the running for Peppers after cutting six players—including defensive lineman Cornelius Griffin— on Thursday.
Our best guess is that he’ll wind up in Washington due to Daniel Snyder’s deep pockets and willingness to spend. The team is in the midst of an overhaul brought about by new coach Mike Shanahan.
Peppers might allow Kerney to be freed up more (if healthy) so both sides of the ball would instant trouble. Then the secondary might not look so porous. Add May at the 14th pick and let him loose. 14 may be high for May, but who better to bring him in than Carrol? May benched almost as much as McCoy at the combine! I’ll put him at OLB! @ 6 they need to grab the best OT available, watch out for the Hawks…
Paul Allens pockets go down to the tops of his socks.
