Charlie Whitehurst
The Seattle Seahawks have themselves a new quarterback.
The team acquired Charlie Whitehurst from the San Diego Chargers in a costly trade according to ESPN’s John Clayton.
The Seahawks now move down 20 spots in the second-round of the draft and also gave up a third-round pick in the 2011 draft.
Whitehurst agreed to a two-year deal with the team that will pay her $5 million-per-year. That’s a hefty sum for a backup quarterback.
Naturally speculation turns to the future of Matt Hasselbeck who is due $5.75 million next season.
Gregg Rosenthal at PFT thinks—and we agree— that he will have to have a pretty good season in order to remain the starter. Else, a new era begins.
For the record, Whitehurst has never thrown a pass in an NFL regular season game.
Well… pay “her” then! LMFAO
Hey, I bet you our semi-pro Seahawks team can beat your pro NFL team! Maybe not.
I’m very upset. This draft is supposed to be the deepest since 1983. So our 2nd round draft choice at number 40 is really the same as a 1st round draft choice any other year. I mean we could of drafted a top quality running back or wide receiver at that spot. Or If you really wanted a quarterback, we could have drafted Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy and allowed him to develop for a year under Matt Hasselback. Our next pick is not until the forth round. Were giving away our future for a 3rd string backup that is 28 years old. I mean really.
