New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey is not about to sit out another Super Bowl.

The once outspoken NFL veteran missed his chance to play in the big game while he was with the New York Giants, but is not about to let history repeat itself.

That means that he will be playing in pain when the team faces the Indianapolis Colts next weekend. Shockey was in Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday to possibly have his knee examined by Dr. James Andrews.

“Damn just got back from b’ham,” Shockey wrote on his Twitter account. “I missed our team dinner… Gnight everyone.”

The knee injury has been bothering him throughout the playoffs.

I felt like a pogo stick out there on one leg, but I have no doubt in my mind it’ll be a lot better in two weeks,” Shockey said Monday, per the New Orleans Times Picayune. “It’s probably a three- or four-week injury, but there was no way I was going miss that game. There’s no way I’m going to miss the next one, either.”
