Saints’ Sharper Out to Re-injure Favre In Season Opener

New Orleans Saints defensive back Darren Sharper is already gearing up for the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings and is out to get Brett Favre.

The 34-year-old is lusting over the possibility of re-injuring Favre’s recently surgically repaired ankle in the NFL season opener.

“Well y’all seen Brett had surgery on that ankle we got after in the championship game,” Sharper wrote on Twitter. “Come Thursday night 1st game. X marks the spot.”

To put it lightly, them’s fighting words!

The problem for Sharper here is two fold.

First, there is no guarantee that Favre will play again next season despite having the surgery.

Second, by issuing a statement like that he’s essentially put an “X” on his own ankle for the Vikings to tee off on.
