Saints’ Meachem Not Looking Likely To Play In NFC Championship

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem did not practice on Wednesday and is looking unlikely to play in this Sunday’s NFC Championship game versus the Minnesota Vikings.

The 2009 breakout receiver hurt his ankle against the Cardinals during last weekend’s playoff game, was seen wearing a protective boot following the game, and hasn’t practiced since. To make matters even more bleak, the Saints activated wide receiver Adrian Arrington off the practice squad for depth.

Although Meachem was held without a catch in the Saints’ NFC Divisional Playoff win, he’s been an integral piece of the passing game all season long. The 3rd year receiver caught 45 balls for 722 yards and 9 touchdowns in the regular season.
