Torry Holt could be the next target for Raiders owner Al Davis.
Now that the New England Patriots have released veteran wide receiver Torry Holt with an injury settlement the question becomes ‘what’s next?’ for the fallen star.
At least one person believes the Oakland Raiders may come calling.
Steve Corkran of the Oakland Tribune has a hunch that the Al Davis will try to snatch up the veteran before he rides off into the sunset.
Admittedly, Corkran’s hunch is based on nothing other than Davis’ previous track record. Case in point, Davis signed James Lofton, Andre Rison, Jerry Rice and Javon Walker.
The Raiders are also in need of veteran leadership at wide receiver. But whether Holt’s knee will even afford him another season remains to be seen.
There is also a rumor flying around that he may sign a one-day contract with the St. Louis Rams and retire.
