Rumor: Jets Hold Advantage to Sign Tomlinson

LaDainian Tomlinson

Free agent running back LaDainian Tomlinson met with the New York Jets well into the afternoon on Friday giving Minnesota Vikings fans cause for concern.

Tomlinson had a very positive meeting with the Vikings on Thursday and went so far as to say that he could see himself playing there.

However, he went on to visit the New York Jets who many thought would have to really bring their “A-Game” in order to sign him.

It appears they may have done just that.

While no deal has been worked out, L.T. is staying another night in the area according Rich Cimini of the NY Daily News.

He is scheduled to have dinner with Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and coach Rex Ryan on Friday as well.

Cimini also pointed out that there were no flights to the west coast available after dinner wraps up, which likely played a big part in his decision to stick around.
