It was a tough Sunday for the Minnesota Vikings. Quarterback Brett Favre threw an interception that may have cost the team a chance at a game-winning field goal and a trip to the Super Bowl.

A few plays later cornerback Cedric Griffin was injured on the opening kickoff of overtime.

According to a report from Sean Jenson of the Chicago Sun-Times an MRI on Monday revealed that he tore his ACL and now faces significant recovery time.

It is questionable whether he will be ready in time for next season.

The only silver lining for Griffin is that he did not tear his MCL as well, which was initially feared.
