Donovan McNabb
The St. Louis Rams have had discussions about trading for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb according to a new report.
Current Rams quarterback Marc Bulger is widely believed to be on his way out of town and it’s not a forgone conclusion that the team will draft Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford with the first pick.
Bryan Burwell of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes the team could offer up a second-round pick for McNabb. That may not be enough, but time will tell.
It had been widely speculated that it would be Michael Vick that the Rams pursued and not McNabb.
For that reason the report has many doubters. Not to mention Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo outright denied having any talks about acquiring the Pro Bowl quarterback.
Second round trade? He’s definitely worth a first round in this market and given his talent – talk of anything less makes me not take such rumors seriously. Sadly though, St. Louis fans will likely appreciate him less than Philly fans did. Me personally, I’d love to have him at the helm!!! Heck, with a new owner willing to invest and give him a supporting cast we could see a Super Bowl run in 2-5 yrs easily! Hey, a girl can dream, no? Anyway, we gotta start somewhere and it makes sense to begin with a field general to build around. Not to mention he fits in well with the Rams ‘pass first, second, third….then maybe run’ mentality!
