The Washington Redskins are expected to introduce Mike Shanahan as their new head coach at a Tuesday at a press conference.
Jason Reid of the Washington Post reports that “barring any unforeseen glitches” Shanahan is the guy and will be in there within the next 24 hours.
The former Broncos coach was picked up in Denver and flown to Washington DC aboard Redskins owner Daniel Snyder’s plane.
Snyder, Shanahan and team G.M. Bruce Allen are meeting Monday night to discuss the team’s power structure and not money.
Reports previously surfaced that the Redskins are prepared to make Shanahan the highest paid coach in NFL history.
Earlier on Monday Allen would not give any specifics on who the team was interviewing for the job.
Shortly after his press conference concluded, reports surfaced that Shanahan in the air and headed to DC and the rumor mill that had been working overtime for the past three weeks went into overdrive.

Has Mr. Shanahan seen DC’s new team uniforms?
