Julius Peppers
While it is still the Chicago Bears deal to lose, Julius Peppers also received offers from the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots last night.
Peppers is still in Chicago meeting with the Bears organization where he will presumably wind up. However, should something go awry, the Eagles and Pats are ready and waiting according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network.
Pepper’s agent Carl Carey has gone so far to tell the Bears not to worry about other teams, but the timing of La Canfora’s report is suspect.
There is speculation that this is a move on Carey’s part to get Chicago to bring just a little more cash to the table for his client.
Interesting to note that after being the front-runners on Thursday, the Washington Redskins aren’t even a factor in the Peppers race anymore.
