The Green Bay Packers are reportedly interested in a player out of college… a basketball player.

The team has their eye on Niagra University roundballer Tyrone Lewis who they think could make it in the NFL.

The Packers lined up on on-campus workout with Lewis for early April according to Jonah Bronstein of the Niagra Gazette.

“Basketball is still the first option, but now that I have another opportunity, I’m going to go after it, and I’m going to train hard for both,” Lewis said. “I’m excited, but I’m not going to get too excited until after the workout.”

NBA scouts have largely written him off due to his size.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder played cornerback, wide receiver and handled kick returning duties in high school.

His uncle, John Lewis, played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills in the 80′s.
