After reports surfaced Monday night that cornerback Leigh Bodden re-signed with the New England Patriots proved to be false, there is confirmation that the deal is now complete.

On Tuesday the two parties officially came to terms on a five-year, $28.5 million contract according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. $10 million of the money is guaranteed.

Bodden was offered a long-term contract when he first signed with the club in 2009, but turned it down to pursue free agency in an uncapped year instead according to PFT’s Mike Florio.

Bodden tested free agency waters by visiting with the Houston Texans before eventually deciding to come back to New England.
