Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable may have a job waiting for him at USC should Al Davis decide to pull the plug on his tenure as head coach.
Lane Kiffin reportedly is prepared to hire Cable to Trojan coaching staff according to Mike Florio of PFT.
Reports continues to surface that the Raiders front office has been busy courting at least Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. However, the organization is steadfast in their denials.
Should Cable and Kiffin hook up at USC, it would be somewhat interesting as the pair have had history in the past.
Cable was upset that Kiffin took so many Raiders coaches with him when he first took over at the University of Tennessee.
“I’m pissed. That’s the best way to put it,” Cable said at the time, per PFT. “Quite frankly, that’s the only way I can put it.”
Why wouldn’t Kiffin hire Cable? They’re both quality guys whose word can be taken without hesitation.
