Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier might have come within a whisper of being the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

If former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy accepted the Seahawks’ offer to become their new president of football operations he would have hired Frazier according to Charley Casserly of CBS.

When Dungy declined the offer on Sunday Frazier’s chances went out the window and the Pete Carroll era began.

Some now wonder if the team’s interview with Frazier was not just to satisfy the NFL’s Rooney Rule after all.

There is some skepticism about the Casserly report as there were wide spread report of Carroll’s contract being all but signed at that point.
