Karlos Dansby

The Miami Dolphins are expected to released linebacker Joey Porter on Friday and replace him with free agent Karlos Dansby.

Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that the team is prepared to use much of Porter’s $9.5 million savings over the next two years on Dansby.

There had been reports that Dansby would board a plane bound for Miami as soon as 1 a.m. Friday morning, but they are unfounded.

He is reportedly seeking a contract in the ballpark of $40 million over five seasons.

The team is also in hot pursuit of Dansby’s Arizona teammate Antrel Rolle.
