Former USC coach Pete Carroll is expected to be bring a number of fellow college coaches with him to the Seattle Seahawks.
It has already been reported that Carroll’s offensive coordinator at USC, Jeremy Bates, will hold that same position in Seattle.
Now, we get word that New Mexico State coach DeWayne Walker is the likely candidate to take over as defensive coordinator for the Seahawks according to Teddy Feinberg of the Las Cruces Sun-News.
A move to the pros would likely mean a big pay increase for the Aggies’ current coach. His current five-year deal with the school is worth $375,000 annually, while a coordinator job in the NFL could pay up around $1 million.
Still, the move is not set in stone.
“I know that (Walker) has not spoken (to Carroll),” NMSU Athletics Director McKinley Boston said. “So we’ll see what happens.”
Also on the move to Seattle is USC’s linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr.
