The Washington Redskins have a new quarterback on their roster. The team signed former Chicago Bears and Houston Texans QB Rex Grossman to a one-year contract on Wednesday morning.

Grossman, who appeared in just one game last season, played under offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan with the Texans last season where he backed up Matt Schaub.

He took the roster spot of Todd Collins whom they released earlier this month.

Despite struggling in recent seasons, Grossman did lead the Bears to the Super bowl in 2006 with the second-highest scoring offense in the league. He started every game that season.

There is still speculation that the team could draft Jimmy Clausen at with the fourth pick overall next month.

The move also pretty much kills any shot of Chris Simms coming to town, whom the team was reportedly interested in.
