The Washington Redskins signed veteran offensive guard Artis Hicks on Saturday, making him the first player brought aboard to help return “The Hogs” to glory.

Hicks and the Redskins agreed to a three-year deal according to Michael David Smith of PFT.

The 31-year-old player made his NFL debut in 2002 with the Philadelphia Eagles and moved on to the Minnesota Vikings in 2006.

In addition, Washington visited with veteran lineman Casey Wiegmann on Saturday, but he left without being signed to a contract.

Also leaving Washington without a contract was San Francisco 49ers tackle Tony Pashos who had dinner with Mike Shanahan and Chris Foerster on Saturday.

Four offensive lineman have paid a visit to Redskins Park since the NFL free agency period began according to Jason Reid of the Washington Post.
