Redskin D. Hall’s Tongue-Lashing by Ryan on ‘Hard Knocks’

DeAngelo HallThe Washington Redskins have not been featured on the popular HBO series “Hard Knocks” but they’ve made it onto the show nevertheless. The show, which is centered around an NFL football team every season and is focused on the New York Jets this year, airs every Wednesday night. Last night New York’s head coach Rex Ryan was shown giving a tongue-lashing to Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall after a tackle he made on Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson.

Tomlinson had made a long run during the preseason game that Washington and New York were playing last Friday night and the tackle that Hall made was late. On the video, you can hear Ryan telling Hall he should have made the tackle around the line of scrimmage and then he berates the Redskin loudly.

“You aren’t gonna tackle anybody!” Ryan yelled in Hall’s direction. “That’s why my brother got rid of your ass!”

Hall signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2008 for $70 million and only appeared in eight games before they released him. At the time, Rex’s twin brother, Rob Ryan was the defensive coordinator for the Raiders from 2004 to 2008.    Hall was cut from the team in November of 2008 and by January of 2009, Rob Ryan was with the Cleveland Browns.  There were reports that Ryan would be gone from the Raiders long before that.  As a matter of fact, his release from the Raiders was being called for in the press as far back as January of 2008. Obviously, Rob was in trouble way before Hall was cut from the team.

I wonder if that was gratifying for Hall.
