Washington Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels and wide receiver Anthony Armstrong are embattled in a war of words.
Armstrong, 27, has been giving Daniels, 37, a hard time about their wide age gap. The veteran, in turn, has been giving the youngster a hard time about his juvenile antics.
The former Arena football star is making the most his first year on an active NFL roster and a reputation for being a jokester.
The rivalry, which has been going on for months, was kicked into high gear after Armstrong was recently asked how he thought Daniels’ radio debut would go.
Daniels recently signed with Sports Journey Broadcast Network and hosts the weekly Phillip Daniels Show on Monday night from 7-9 p.m. ET.
Armstrong jokingly said his show should be sponsored by Life Alert.
“Old man can’t stay up past 9 o’clock,” he quipped.
Another zinger…
“Don’t be so uptight and tense like he usually is. All those muscles make you tense. He’s gotta relax,” he joked.
And the jokes haven’t stopped from either party since.
Daniels threatened to take the young receiver to Maggiano’s so he can draw on the paper table cloths with crayons.
Armstrong joked that he was out at FedEx Field making sure it was wheelchair accessible for Daniels.
You can listen to Armstrong’s recent shots at Daniels.
