Troy Smith
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Troy Smith signed his RFA tender recently. The new one-year contract will earn him $1.101 million next season.
The Heisman Trophy winner, who recently changed agents, has been desperate to get out of Baltimore and was hoping to land a spot with the Cleveland Browns, which didn’t happen.
However, by signing his tender he could become a commodity for the Ravens to trade during the draft.
Smith appeared in just four games for the Ravens last season, completing five of nine passing attempts while throwing one interception. He found the end zone once on the ground.
The former leader of the Ohio State Buckeyes has two NFL starts under his belt over the course of his three-year career.
News of the signing was first reported by Howard Balzer.
I really hope he gets traded with a chance to start. Troy deserves a shot. He has so many intangibles that are too important to pass up. Heck Joe Montana was a 5th rounder as well. Of course though I’m a buckeye so I’m clearly biased
But in all seriousness he deserves a shot,
