Ravens Offense Comes Alive in Second Quarter, Redskins Defense Bends

Joe Flacco

Flacco and the Ravens offense came alive in the second quarter

After playing stingy in the first quarter, the Washington Redskins first-team defense softened and gave up 13 points to the Baltimore Ravens in the second quarter.

The Ravens offense, led by Joe Flacco, went on an 8-play, 52-yard drive that was capped by a 26-yard Billy Cundiff field goal to open the second quarter.

As an encore, they went on a 7-play, 68-yard touchdown drive that ended with a 1-yard scoring run from Willis McGahee.

Cundiff added a 42-yard field goal in the closing minute of the first half on a 9-play drive that was led by backup quarterback Marc Bulger.

Flacco finished his night 9-of-16 passing for 72 yards.

LaRon Landry, who briefly exited the game with what appeared to be cramps, led the Redskins defense with seven tackles (five solo). London Fletcher added four tackles of his own.
