The Baltimore Ravens and rookie offensive tackle Ramon Harewood agreed to terms on a three-year, $1.289 million deal on Monday.
The contract includes base salaries of$320,000, $405,000 and $490,000 as well as a $74,171 signing bonus according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
The sixth-round pick (No. 194 overall) out of Morehouse was born and raised in Barbados.
The team considers him a prospect that may not be able to contribute right away.
A giant of a player, Harewood is listed at 6-foot-6 and 341 pounds. He missed the majority of OTAs and camp with soft tissue damage in his right knee, but should be ready in time for training camp.
“Ramon Harewood is a huge man,” Joe Hortiz, Ravens director of college scouting, told the Baltimore Sun. “He’s a giant. He can knock down his side of the line of scrimmage. He’s raw, and he needs a lot of developmental work with technique … He’s got a lot of work to do, but he’s got the passion and drive to get better.”
