Rolando McClain became the highest draft choice so far to sign his contract after agreeing to terms with the Oakland Raiders late Wednesday night.
The first-round (No. 8 overall) linebacker from Alabama will be in Napa Thursday as the Raiders officially open training camp.
Terms of the deal were not immediately available, but the Raiders signed Darrius Heyward-Bey, the No. 7 overall pick in 2009, to a five-year deal worth a maximum of $38.25 million last year. $23.5 million of that money is guaranteed.
McClain was a unanimous first-team All-American selection and was an integral part of the defense that helped win the BCS National Championship last season for the Crimson Tide.
The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder started 37 games during his three years in college where he registered 275 tackles, eight sacks, five interceptions and 31.5 tackles for a loss.
With the signing, the Raiders have all nine of their draft picks under contract.
UPDATE: The contract will pay him an astounding $40 million over five years. (full contract details)
