Raiders Deny Rumors, Sources Firm Harbaugh Has Been Contacted

Did they or didn’t they? The Oakland Raiders staunchly deny reports that they have met with a number of coaches to replace head coach Tom Cable.

However, two of the most trusted NFL reporters in the business are standing behind their stories and that Oakland is essentially full of bull.

ESPN reporter Adam Schefter is sticking to his story that the team has at least gauged the interest of Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Meanwhile, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network maintains that the Raiders have contacted Harbaugh through “back channels.”

Adding more fuel to the fire, Rich Lieberman (Bay Area media guru) suggests that a four-year $20 million contract could get the deal done and that Harbaugh has already met with Davis.

Which is the truth? Probably somewhere between Lieberman and Canfora/Schefter.

But believe this… where there is smoke, there is fire.
