The Philadelphia Eagles hired former Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron as their new secondary coach on Tuesday according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network.
Jauron was dismissed by the Bills last November after three years and some change with the team.
He will replace Brian Stewart who left the NFL last week to become the new defensive coordinator for the University of Houston.
In 2009, Philadelphia’s pass defense ranked No. 17 overall in the NFL.
It has been a while since Jauron held a position other than defensive coordinator or head coach in the league. From 1986-1994 he served as defensive backs coach for the Green Bay Packers.
