Perry Fewell Likely to Land Bears Defensive Coordinator Position

Former Buffalo Bills interim Head Coach Perry Fewell is likely to fill the vacant defensive coordinator position for the Chicago Bears, according to NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora.

Should this report become fact, Fewell will take over defensive play-calling duties from Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith. Smith and Fewell have worked together twice with the St. Louis Rams and with the Chicago Bears.

Fewell’s expertise in the secondary should prove to mesh well with Rod Marinelli’s defensive line schemes.

The New York Giants are rumored to be competing with the Bears for Fewell’s services.
