New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker left Sunday’s game with an apparent knee injury in Buffalo.

Welker went down without contact after cutting on his left knee.

He appeared to be in significant pain on the field before being aided to the sideline by the training staff.

Before being carted to the locker room for further evaluation, Welker buried his head in a towel and wiped away tears.

It is difficult to speculate as to the exact nature of the injury, but at this point it does not look good.

Earlier on Sunday it was reported that Tom Brady has been playing with broken ribs.

UPDATE: The Patriots have ruled out Welker for the remainder of the game, but have not given any details on the injury.
