New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork may have played his final down with the team on Sunday. Then again, he may not have.

After the Patriots were upset by the Baltimore Ravens, Wilfork opened up to the press a little bit regarding his future in Foxborough.

“I told my teammates, the guys I play with on that defense, ‘I don’t know if this is the last game I play with you or not, but if it is, man, I love you and I’m gonna miss you,’” Wilfork said per the Boston Herald. “We’ll go from here and see what happens.”

The 28-year-old is a free agent this offseason, but there is also a good chance the Patriots will use their franchise tag on him. That’s an option he’s not really looking forward to.

“Of course I won’t like it,” Wilfork said of the possibility.

The problem stems from the Patriots not wanting to sign him long-term.

“I want a long-term deal,” he said. “That’s something that me and my wife want. That’s first and foremost. We’ll see what’s going on in that area and go from there.”
