Robert Kraft is confident that Tom Brady wants to remain in New England.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is not only confident that Tom Brady will be at training camp, but that he will be with the team in the future.
“He’s going to be here,” Kraft said Thursday, per Judy Battista of the NY Times. “I love the guy. We’re so lucky to have him. I have an emotional attachment because I remember him coming in as the fourth quarterback, being a skinny beanpole of a kid.”
Brady is entering the final year of his contract and will make up to $6.5 million this season with a base of $3.5 million.
He’s also upset with the slow pace of the contract talks.
Nonetheless, Kraft believes Brady will remain with the Patriots for as long as he is active in the NFL.
“In my mind, he will be,” Kraft said of Brady remaining in New England. “One way or another. I believe he wants to be here. We want him here. We have a complicated situation we’re dealing with. There are a lot of forces at work. One way or another it will work out.”
