Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is unlikely to suit up for Sunday’s season finale against the New Orleans Saints.

Williams’ ankle injury, which kept him out of practice on Friday, should earn Jonathan Stewart his third consecutive start in the Panther backfield.

Stewart, however, is also listed as questionable on the team’s injury report, but should not miss any time.

Williams was not the only Carolina Panther to miss practice on Friday. Fellow running back Tyrell Sutton was also sidelined and is doubtful for the Saints game.

In other Panthers news, the team placed wide receiver Steve Smith on IR after he broke his arm against the Giants in week 16.

The team signed linebacker Mortty Ivy to take his spot on the roster.
