The Green Bay Packers signed free safety Nick Collins to a long-term contract extension on Friday.

Collins, who just recently signed his one-year tender to stay with the team, inked a three-year, $23.4 million deal according to Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel.

The contract is front loaded so that he will earn $14 million next season—a good chunk of change before the predicted work stoppage in 2011.

He has started every NFL game he’s ever appeared in since beig drafted out of Bethune-Cookman by the Packers in the second round of the 2005 draft.

Collins had 53 tackles, six interceptions and one sack last season.
