Packers RB Ryan Grant Suffered Concussion, Could Return Tuesday

Packers coach Mike McCarthy confirmed Ryan Grant suffered a concussion.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that Ryan Grant suffered a concussion in the team’s preseason opener this weekend.

The former Notre Dame running back suffered the head injury when he was rocked by two Cleveland Browns defenders Saturday night.

Grant stumbled when he first tried to get up and was eventually aided to the sideline by the Packers training staff.

Prior to the injury Grant carried the ball three times for a total of six yards on the night. He also fumbled once.

McCarthy is hopeful that he can return to practice on Tuesday according to Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Given the league’s stance on head injuries his return early this week is far from certain.
