Nick Collins wasn’t the only player the Green Bay Packers signed to a long-term deal on Friday.
The team also announced that defensive tackle Ryan Pickett agreed to terms on a four-year, $28 million contract as they headed into the weekend.
The deal will pay Pickett $10 million next season according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Last month the Packers applied the franchise tag on Pickett, but all parties involved were optimistic that they would eventually work out a long-term deal.
“We have continued to talk to Ryan and his representatives and are pleased we were able to sign Ryan to this extension,” Packers GM Ted Thompson said in a press release. “He has been a key part of our success on defense, and we look forward to having Ryan be a part of our future in Green Bay.”
