Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli is expected to apply for entrance in the NFL’s supplemental draft on July 15th according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.
Masoli was kicked off of the University of Oregon’s team by Head Coach Chip Kelly after being charged with possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended California driving license on June 7th.
Masoli had already been convicted in March of misdemeanor burglary for his role in a campus fraternity theft and was serving a year’s probation.
Three players have already applied for the draft: BYU’s Harvey Unga, Northwestern State’s Quentin Castille and Truman State’s Vaness Emokpae.
If a team selects a player in the supplemental draft then they forfeit the corresponding round’s pick in the following year’s traditional draft.
