The Chicago Bears are about to go free agent shopping and it appears that Brandon Marshall is on their list.
One NFL source wagered a steak dinner that Marshall, who is a restricted free agent with the Denver Broncos, will be in a Bears uniform when training camp opens according to Neil Hayes of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Marshall had a rough last season with the Broncos due in part to his unhappiness with the team. Still, all parties involved in that situation claim that they can make things work for the 2010 season. We’re not convinced.
The McCaskey family has given Bears GM Jerry Angelo $25 million to spend in free agency because they don’t have a first-or second-round draft pick.
Marshall’s previous rapport with Jay Cutler could be the key to sealing the deal.

Listen up know it all- Have you ever heard of a sign and trade? He is restricted which mean’s if a team willingly agree’s to a deal with him, they then owe the broncos a 1st round pick. But in a trade scenario that tender is out the door. So you are the dumb one.
you all r dumb. denver tendered marshall with a 1st round draft pick. do u even know wut that means. u HAVE to have a 1st round pick plus compensation in order to even be in the talk of gettin marshall. we all know that the bears will sign naybe one solid star in the FA. they might get antrel rolle the star. possibility of ak74 even though hes injury prone. ot they will sign a bunch of B list stars such saftey atogwe from st louis and charles grant from new orleans. they will keep desmond clark and kellen davis at TE. The urlacher trade to move up for mays would be an outstandin move but its jerry angelo here. the last chance he actually took was jay cutler and look how that has turned out.
The Bears would have to give a first round pick for Marshall which they don’t have. The only way we get him is through trade. Arizona is only asking a third rounder for Boldin. If we sign Peppers we don’t have money to sign Rolle or Thomas Jones. This isn’t Madden guys. Better off signing Kampmann, Rolle, trading for Boldin. moving down in draft trade Urlacher move Briggs over to mlb draft T. Mays from the Urlacher trade to move down. Make T. Mays a LB like they did to Urlacher when he came out same size only Mays is faster and nastier.
THE BEARS DONT HAVE TO TRADE ANYBODY FOR BRANDON MARSHALL. HE IS RESTRICTED FREE AGENT. THE BEARS JUST PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR HIM. DENVER IS TRYING TO FIND A TRADE SO THEY COULD FRANCHISE HIM THEN TRADE. DONT THINK THATS GOING TO HAPPEN. THEY MIGHT NOT WANT TO OUTBID THE BEARS BUY USING A FRANCHISE TAG BECAUSE IF THEY DONT FIND A TRADE PARTNER THEY WOULD BE STUCK PAYING BIG BUCKS TO A UNHAPPY RECIEVER. YOU BE THE JUDGE OF THAT. I WOULD BET 2 STEAK DINNERS THAT HE IS A BEAR IN A WEEK FROM NOW.
And the Bears are trading WHAT for Marshall? LOL, sorry, there’s nothing left in the Bears that can cause any interest in Denver, no top draft picks, no equal impact players… sorry. This is just foolish wishful thinking.
Probably the smartest thing I heard all morning! Bring back Thomas jones, bring in rolle and peppers and we got a super bowl team!!!
