The NFL will not play a second game in the UK in 2010.

Although two teams “agreed conceptually” to holding home games overseas, the NFL opted to only go with one.

“Playing one game in the UK is a significant investment,” the NFL said in a statement on Sunday. “Playing a second game is an even bigger investment.”

Uncertainty with the CBA played a large part in the league’s decision.

“As we considered this, the uncertainty related to the ongoing CBA discussions linked to the current global economic climate were critical factors in our decision not to play a second game in the UK,” the statement read.

Once the CBA situation is worked out, the NFL will again consider holding a second game overseas.

Previously, league officials hinted that as many as four games could be played overseas by 2012.

For now, however, British fans will have to settle for a clash between the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers at Wembley Stadium in October.
