Ben Roethlisberger
And so marks the return of Ben Roethlisberger… for now.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell cleared the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback to return to team activities starting next week.
Per league spokesman Greg Aiello, Goodell’s decision was based on reports and recommendations of the medical experts who have been working with Roethlisberger.
While he will participate in OTAs, the suspension levied upon him for the first six games of the season still stands.
The league will continue to monitor Big Ben’s progress and could shorten the banishment to four games if he continues to make improvements and stay out of trouble.
Steelers team president Art Rooney II is excited to have his star back on the field.
“We look forward to having Ben re-join his teammates on the practice field,” he said per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
