While the New Orleans Saints have locked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the playoffs, four teams are still alive for the No. 2 seed, with the Philadelphia Eagles in the driver’s seat.
However, the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys all could snatch the spot away after the final games of the season are played.
The Eagles can wrap up the two spot and a first round bye with a road win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Vikings can regain the No. 2 seed with a win over New York Giants at home and a Philly loss.
The Cardinals could sneak in as the two seed with a victory over the Green Bay Packers in the desert, coupled with losses by the Eagles and Vikings.
The Cowboys are still alive, but need the most help. They could get the first round bye with a win over the Eagles and losses from the Vikings and Arizona Cardinals.

New Orleans Saints had a fantastic season to be sure, and congrats to Brees and the boys for clenching NFC championship. I have a strong feeling the playoffs will be a totally different picture. How well the Saints do in the playoffs is highly questionable, considering their sub-par performance in their last two losses against Dallas and Tampa. Too many injuries have certainly weakened them significantly, and they are now looking like the old Saints team that everyone once knew as the “Aints.” Their game today vs. Carolina will be very telling. Nevertheless, I wish them well. Despite their NFC championship status, only a Superbowl victory can dispel the old Underdog myth that surrounds this highly interesting team. I know I am not the only one who likes to see the Underdog come out on top. Good luck, New Orleans. You are gong to need it.
