Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate is ready to break through, he’s just not there yet. So thinks Pete Carroll.
After getting the rookie out of Notre Dame heavily involved in the offense a few weeks ago, Carroll has limited Tate’s time on the field because of frequent mistakes.
“A couple weeks ago he played 20 plays or something and he had four or five mistakes out of those 20 plays so that’s more than we want,” Carroll said this week, per the Seattle Times. “They’re little things, but they’re important… It’s just holding him back a little bit.”
Carroll is confident that the young receiver whom he faced during his time at USC will come around shortly.
“He’s close. He’s really close and it’s just a matter of time,” he said.
