Keeping true to his word, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner will not take long to address his future in the NFL.

Warner is scheduled to announce whether he will retire or not on Friday at the team’s training facility according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

All signs continue to point to a decision to call it a career, which many on the Cardinals roster feel will be the case.

Warner, himself, sounded ready to retire in a recent interview.

“I pray that God takes away the desire in me to play this game,” Warner told ESPN’s Rick Reily. “I’ve loved it for so long. I need Him to take that away from me, so that I can be comfortable with this decision.”

Not only concerned for his long term health due to concussions, Warner also seems to be drained on the riggers of the NFL week.

“The three hours on Sundays are still fun,” he said. “But it’s the whole week, the whole commitment, the ability to sustain it to your fullest, day in and day out.”

If Warner does settle on retirement, Matt Leinart will be the only quarterback Arizona has under contract for 2010. Expect for them to go quarterback shopping in the near future, especially with the current receiving corps not having confidence in him.
