Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio has revealed that his team’s star player will not participate the Jagaurs final pre-season game against the Atlanta Falcons.
“[He's] working, rehabbing, strengthening and gearing up for the start of the regular season,” Del Rio said when asked what Jones-Drew was doing this week. “We’re going to hold him out of the short week.”
Reports have surfaced about a possible knee injury that required surgery during the offseason, but Del Rio refuted that rumor.
“No,” Del Rio said. “That has not happened and is not necessary.”
He is clearly one of our marquee players. Arriving at the regular season full strength is what’s most important,” Del Rio said.
