Jim Zorn
Former Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn may not have to travel far to find a new home in the NFL.
The Baltimore Ravens have reached out to Zorn to gauge his interest in their vacant quarterbacks coach position.
A formal interview could be coming soon according to Chris Russell of radio station 106.7 The Fan in Washington, DC.
Prior to a lackluster two-year run as head coach with the Redskins, Zorn had a successful 10 seasons as a quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions (1998-2000) and Seattle Seahawks (2001-2007).
Also in the mix for the position is current Baltimore offensive consultant Al Saunders who has 27 years of experience in the NFL.
Former Ravens QB coach Hue Jackson left to become the new Oakland Raiders new offensive coordinator.
The Baltimore Ravens will be getting a great QB coach if they hire Jim Zorn. I’ve followed his career ever since he started playing for the Seahawks in 1976; he’s always been a great player and a great coach. The whole Washington Redskins fiasco was way over his head and way over his control; nothing that happened in Washington indicates anything about Coach Zorn except that he has more class than Dan Snyder will ever possess.
On a personal note, I’d prefer to see Coach Zorn back with my Seahawks, but if the Ravens sign him, then they are making a smart move.
