Darrelle Revis is clueless about how contract talks are progressing.
After a 2009 campaign in which he was the runner-up for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has made it known he wants to be paid appropriately.
While he’s serious about his financial requests, he has no idea how the talks are going between his agent and the Jets.
“Right now, my agent is doing the talking and I haven’t gotten (any) feedback from him,” Revis said this week, per the NY Post. “As of right now, I’m clueless.”
The owner of Revis Island is reportedly looking for more than $15 million annually. His current contract will earn him just $1 million this season.
The question now becomes whether he will hold out from the Jets training camp.
“I don’t know yet,” he said. “I still have a couple weeks to still think about it — camp starts Aug. 1 — so hopefully we can see eye to eye and get this thing done before camp starts.”
