Shonn Greene
New York Jets running back Shonn Greene was taken to the locker room after the team’s first possession of the second half.
He suffered a rib injury while being gang tackled by a number of Indianapolis Colts defenders on his first carry of the second half. He immediately grabbed his left rib cage after going to the ground.
Phil Simms said it appeared that he was having a hard time breathing while walking off the field with trainers.
He had 10 carries for 41 yards prior to his exit.
Greene’s absence could be especially difficult for the Jets after the Colts take the lead on their next possession after the running back exited.
He had x-rays taken and came out without his pads on looking worse than when he entered initially according the CBS sideline reporter. Greene then headed further into the Jets locker room instead of heading toward the sidelines.
His return is not looking good at this point, but is officially listed as questionable.
UPDATE: Greene returned to the sideline in full gear. Trainers added additional padding around the affected area.
